Fruit of the Spirit · Week 5
Kindness
Being kind in a world that’s kind of mean.
Sounds alike
ChristosChrist
chrēstosKind
In Greek, the two words sound so close that outsiders mixed them up. Early Christians got called “Chrestians,” which sounds like “the kind ones.”
If someone got your name wrong and called you “kind,” would it fit?
Four things kindness does
Type the missing word as we go.
Pull up a chair
The church is a table, not a talent show.
Mephibosheth limped to the king’s table, and once he sat down he ate there “like one of the king’s sons” (2 Samuel 9:11). God pulled up a chair for you. Now he wants to pull up chairs for others through you.
Who could you invite to your table this Thanksgiving?
My notes
Your leaf
Let it fall. Cross the road.
A grudge, a hurt, a name.
Someone overlooked, hard to love, or who can’t pay you back.
What you type stays on this phone only.
“Lord, I don’t feel like forgiving them. But I’m handing you the bag.”A prayer for this week
Includes the handout, your answers, your notes and your leaf.
