Prague has been called the Golden City for centuries.
Czechs call it Zlatá Praha, Golden Prague. A city of a hundred spires, with a castle on the hill that you can see from almost anywhere in town.
We believe the church is meant to be that kind of city too: a place full of light that the whole city can see. Since 1992 this family has gathered in the center of Prague to worship Jesus, pray for the city and welcome anyone who walks through the door. Golden City is the next chapter of that story.
In Czech, our name is Církev Zlaté město: Golden City Church.

More than 30 years of faithfulness in Prague
This church was born in the months after the Velvet Revolution, when the doors of the city were opening and people were hungry for hope.

A small group, a big hunger
Larry and Janice Winnes first visit Prague, bringing Bible teaching to a group of believers meeting quietly in the city.

The city changes
A marriage seminar meets in secret near Wenceslas Square the night before the demonstrations begin.
- 1992
The first Sunday
On October 11, nineteen people gather at the YMCA for the first English-speaking service.

John and Kelsie arrive
Pastors John and Kelsie Mullen begin leading the church, and they have led it ever since.

Meet John and Kelsie
John and Kelsie Mullen have pastored this church since 1996. Both are from Texas. John first came to Prague on a short-term mission trip in 1992 and trained at Dallas Theological Seminary before being invited back to pastor. Kelsie felt called to serve overseas from the age of 16.
Together they helped start the International House of Prayer Prague, and John co-founded the Christian International School of Prague. Prague is home. They would love to meet you on Sunday.

David is a surgeon who leads medical mission trips to Uganda. Dorothy is a teacher who leads an intercession ministry.

They host the P1 Home Group and are helping start a ministry for international students.

Sam joined the church as a student in 2016 and has led worship since 2023.
